About Lucinda
Lucy is a friendly, well-adjusted girl. She is partially blind, however she’s a clever and mature dog and navigates her way around very well.
Lucy uses her sense of smell for just about everything, so constant snuffling is a part of her gorgeous character. :) Commands are essential to helping her move about easily, and a trusting relationship with her furever person will go a long way to ensuring she settles contentedly into her new life with you.
MY IDEAL HOME: I am an easygoing girl who adores being with my family. I love my walks - I’m very good on a lead and I know how to listen to commands. I am used to spending the weekdays alone but do miss my family a bit, so if you don't work full-time, I would love that to bits! I need a home with a steady routine and a good brush everyday in summer.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I have medium energy levels, so a walk in the morning and one in the afternoon is a perfect routine for me. I love the water and swimming too, you just need to be close by, because I can’t see very well.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I am great with children, I love them!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I am fine with other dogs - I'm quite a social butterfly! - but I’ve never lived with a cat prior to my current foster home. We're not really sure how that's going to pan out! If your resident cat has lived with dogs all his life then it might be OK.
A NOTE FROM THE FOSTER CARER: Though Lucy is sight impaired, she is an easy dog to look after. It took us a few days to get all the commands sorted but she has a huge vocabulary so it was easy. A devoted and sweet-natured girl, she will be a fabulous companion dog for anyone!

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill an enquiry form.
You can receive this by emailing NSWadoptions@maggiesrescue.org or visiting our webpage www.maggiesrescue.org
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in adopting.
Maggie's wants this to be a good experience for you, and we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog as your situation may not meet the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of this period we will transfer the microchip to your details and the adoption is complete.
Your pet is a Maggie's Pet for Life, please consider this before adopting.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
