About Louie
Louie is a happy and playful little guy. He does love to do zoomies around the yard and is great with the other dogs. Very spritely for near 11 years old!!
Louie will settle in his yard and not try to wander or dig out etc, he is far past that stage.
He gets along ok with the cat, although he does think its fun to bark at the cat and try and scare him (although my cat is bulletproof) He has never even attempted going near the cat!
Louie is a great watch dog and will let you know if anyone is about. He has recently had some teeth extracted and his others cleaned so he will need good food and plenty of chicken necks to maintain his oral health. The vet has recommended the he NOT be given meat bones as they may be harsh on some of his teeth that are a bit damaged and may cause irritation, cracks and pain.
He is a dog that will require grooming, regular brushing as well as a regular clip (he has just had one so won't need a clip for a little while now).
He enjoys the car, knows where his "bed" is, and is tidy. So far, from what I can tell, he is house trained. He learns things quickly and is very clever, his recall is good, and he has learnt his new name in the space of just a few days. He sits, shakes hands and lies down all on command!!
Easy to handle, although if he is run at, he will get scared and run away, so he would probably prefer a quieter household more than anything.
Currently located in Greenbank
Medical notes
Desexed, chipped, wormed, flea treated, vaccinated and vet checked.
Louie does have some benign fatty lumps on his chest and UNDER his glute muscles. (basically looks like he a big bottom)
Other than being a bit unsightly, they pose no threat or discomfort to him at this stage and we opted NOT to operate. The risk and complications of the procedure, outweighed their threat.
Once his fur grows again (he has been clipped right back due to excess knots) you can barely notice his lumps anyway.
Louie also has some arthritis and stiffness in his rear legs. The vet has assessed this, and it is causing him no pain and discomfort again, just a part of getting old! There should be no complications with his issues, and he should go on to lead a normal, happy old life. His heart is good and his spirit is up!!
The vet is happy to have a chat with anyone wishing to adopt him, all of this has been recorded on his file.
Adoption details
All animals come with a 7 day trial period (this is negotiable depending on case by case differences, and will be discussed accordingly with anyone having queries)
After this time, and knowing that both the family and pet are happy together, the adoption will be finalized.
If an animal is to be returned for whatever reason during this 7 day period, a 10% (of the adoption price) administration fee will be taken out of the refund. Animals returned after this time, unfortunately forfeit the adoption price.
