About Kerbie ~ On trial 21/3/15
My name is Kerbie and I'm an 8 week old wolfie x bull arab puppy. I'm the biggest of a litter of pups born and raised in foster care after my mum Bella was rescued from death row at the pound. My foster mummy says I'm a big boofa and she says I'm very pretty even though I'm a boy. I love playing with my sister Mouse, we play tug of war with toys - the smaller the toy the better so I love to pinch the cats toys. I chase Mouse around the house but I can't always keep up with her as I'm a bit of a goofball and will trip over my own paws. At 8 weeks I'm a very big boy and my foster mummy says I'm like a big fluffy teddy bear. I'm happy to be your teddy bear and love to be picked up and cuddled.
I'm in foster care with 3 older dogs and 5 cats. I like all the cats, I will sniff them to say hi, but most of the time they sleep as I think cats are very lazy so I just leave them alone. When I first meet bigger dogs I can sometimes find them very scary so I cry. My sister Mouse is a bigger scaredy cat than I am, but if she gets scared then I copy her. My foster mummy says we have a good set of lungs when frightened! Once I realise that the other dogs won't hurt me I adore them! I really love my big foster brother Wasabi now, he plays with me and babysits me and makes sure I don't get up to too much puppy mischief.
I would really love a furever home with a young friendly playful dog as a playmate and a good role model. Although I love playing I am also a really solid sleeper and I sleep soundly with the other dogs all night long. After play time, I take many long puppy naps and I sleep well. I'm only new to toilet training as I'm just a baby, so my new family will need to continue to train me on where to go to the toilet.
I love people, and I like to lick your toes sometimes! I enjoy playing with children, but considering I'm going to be a big boy my foster mummy says I'm best suited to older children as I will probably knock over small children accidentally. My mum Bella is only a small wolfie cross (border collie height) but my brothers and I are all very big so I have some big doggy genes in my breed mix.
My foster mum says I would best suit a furever home with another friendly playful dog or someone who is home a lot. I need to be allowed inside when my family is home and sleep inside. I am very social and too young to be left alone for long periods of time. I would love to go to puppy-training classes when I’m a little older as my foster mum says they will give me the best start in life. I will need plenty of affection, exercise, and training from my new family.
My mum Bella, my sister Mouse, and my brothers Como, Aspen, Zazu and Java are also available for adoption.
If you would like to meet me, please contact my foster mum Jo on email jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com or 0427 695 104 outside business hours. I am in foster care near Gosford, NSW (Central Coast) and I am not available for adoption interstate.
My adoption fee is $450 and includes my desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and micro-chipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
