About Wilfred
Wilfred is a survivor. He had to be, to overcome his previous life of neglect.
Wilfred was found in a storm water drain on the side of a country road, and it's unlikely he got there on his own. He was in such an atrocious state that he was barely recognizable as a dog. This is not a sad story though, Wilfred was freed from his prison of filth and mats by our amazing groomer and he hasn't looked back since!
Due to his terrible previous life, Wilfred does have a few issues that he's been working on in care and he's doing so well! He was marking when indoors, but has now stopped this with correction and is essentially house trained now.
He can get over excited and forget his manners at times, but again he's working on this and getting much better. He is also learning not to snatch food, now that he knows he's never going to have to go without again.
Wilfred is an active boy who loves walks and playing with squeaky toys. He is very affectionate and loves a back scratch!
Wilfred is very dependent on having a doggy friend and will need an existing dog in his new home, who is happy to play with him and continue to teach him how to dog!
Considering the life he came from, Wilfred has adjusted very well in care and will make a wonderful companion in a home that is prepared to help him be the best little dog he can be!
Wilfred is not fussed by cats and while he is a lovely friendly boy, he can be a little boisterous when excited, so would be best suited to an adult home or one with older kids.
Wilfred is in care in Templestowe
Medical notes
Wilfred goes to his new home desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated and professionally groomed.
