About Rocky (ON Trial 14/3/15) ~ 1 yo Dachshund x
Rocky is a 1 year old Dachshund x. Is he your new furry family member? He loves cuddles and is a beautiful and sweet natured. He enjoys playing with children of all ages and loves to play with other dogs (big or small). He likes a squeaky ball too and will play with a ball for hours.
He loves going to the beach! Just like a child, he has no fear; he runs into the surf and swims through the waves.
Rocky is currently living with a small dog and a cat. He is not bothered by the cat at all.
We would like for Rocky to go to a home where he will be allowed inside. As he has not been inside very much yet, he will some help with housetraining in his forever home.
Rocky is well behaved and knows how to sit and stay. He has energy to burn and he still likes to act like a puppy sometimes by chewing some things and jumping a little, but he is a quick learner and is improving every day. He loves a walk and does pull a little but is learning not to pull as much.
Rocky will let you know when someone or another dog is walking by; he does like to protect his yard. He has never shown any signs of aggression with children and or other animals.
Rocky would be happy in a home with or without children and with or without other pets. All he wants is love and cuddles and you will get that back in return with lots of licks. So if you have room in your heart and home, Rocky is can be your new best friend.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
