Scooby

Scooby loves people, is already my shadow, and his favorite thing is to join me for a chat and ear rub on my banana lounge. He would desperately love to snuggle next to me on the couch cushions inside too, but we're trying to learn a few more manners first.

Scooby is already a really gentle lovely pup who doesn't snatch or mouth and just wants to be with you. In just a few weeks has already learnt sit, drop and to wait for food and is keen for more. Perfectly toilet trained, great in the car. No barking to speak of. Already he is an absolute gentle softy, but there are also short bursts of excited - cheeky and slightly manic - pup.

These bursts of puppy including being cheeky, disobedient, jumping up when over excited. Also enjoys a chew and fetching me my shoes a little too much... At 24 kilos he's a big boy and some of his chewing and efforts at rearranging furniture in my backyard have been a bit dramatic, yet there is already a really chilled side that will only develop more with age and further training.

Loves long walks and would be great with a runner or active family. If not distracted is amazing on lead, and waits at roads on command. Loves an onlead run.

Like his namesake Scooby Doo can be a bit of scaredy cat with an impulse to jump on your lap. He's settling in well to city life though, and in only three weeks has already bravely beaten his fears of garbage trucks, trams and his own reflection, even floor boards are his friend now! but still reacts badly to other dogs when out and about.

Scooby does need to learn some manners when meeting dogs as he can be very excitable and over the top. With an experienced, confident handler, I can easily see him taking meeting other dogs in his stride and with more practice though, just not to be rushed.

I would love to see him with an active older family who have lots of bones and dog experience. Continuing dog training classes would be great as he is such a big pup and this will also help with his doggy manners! Daily walks, runs or bike rides would help burn some of this boys wonderful energy! Scooby will reward you with loads of love and kisses.

A home to call his own and have all the focus on him would be preferable:)
