About Sootie ~ senior mini foxy, girl (Trial 10/10/15)
Sootie is a very sweet, mini foxy girl, 11 years old. Don't let her age fool you! She's a bright and happy little girl. She loves to run the yard, walk on the beach, and is equally happy to snuggle with you and snooze on the lounge. She likes to play with soft toys and will bring them back if you throw them for her. She has a favourite teddy that she loves.
Sootie is perfectly behaved in the car. She's extremely easy to bathe and just stands still to be washed. Before coming to dog rescue, she spent her entire life outside, which is quite sad. But now she is an inside dog and loves being with people and sleeping inside where it is so comfortable. She is housetrained.
Sootie loves going for walks as much as possible and walks well on a lead. She is healthy and has recently had her teeth cleaned by our vet and she's feeling great! All she needs now is someone to love her and care for her and she will love them in return.
Sootie is frightened by other dogs, especially those larger than her, so she needs to be an only dog. She is good with children but prefers the quiet life, so isn't suited to live with children under 9 years old but is fine if you have children visitors.
Sootie doesn't like to spend all day home alone so a home with someone who is retired or only works part time is needed for her. She has had a very hard life up until now but she is sweet and lovable and will be someone's beloved best friend.
For more information or to meet Sootie please phone foster carer Val on 02-4943-0615 or email grandy9@bigpond.com (phoning is preferred). Sootie is in foster care near Charlestown, NSW (Newcastle area).
Sootie's adoption fee is only $100 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
