Benji (adopted 26/2/15)

Benji is a 2.5 year old Maltese. He might only be miniature - around 4.5kg, but he has a big personality and lots of confidence. He loves to be around you and loves nothing more than a cuddle and a belly rub, he enjoys it that much that within minutes he falls asleep. He is an adorable boy who is so thankful for any love that you give.

Benji has had a previous injury to his lower back which was never treated so he now has a cute little waddle when he walks. Currently, he is in no pain and it doesn't hold him back from running around the yard and playing with his foster sister.

Benji has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful. He is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside.

He travels well in the car and is a very happy-go-lucky dog who has very few worries. The only thing that scares him is bigger dogs.

Because of this and his back problem, I think Benji would be best suited to a family who has either no other dogs, or if they have other dogs they can only be small ones. Benji is good with children but needs to be treated gently because of his injury.
