Granite ~ On Trial 22/2/15

Hi I’m Granite and I’m a cuddly 10 week old kelpie x puppy. I love to lay in bed and watch TV with my foster mummy. I’m particularly fond of the ad breaks as funny noises come from the TV and so I have to tilt my head to listen to the noises. My foster mummy giggles and says there is nothing cuter than a puppy head tilt but I don’t know what that means, so I tilt my head and look at her curiously so she laughs more!

I love to play games with my foster sister Raven, she is older than me and can sometimes be bossy but I take it all in my stride as my foster mummy says she’s a typical girl. I love to play with toys and balls – I run really fast to try to catch the ball and try to beat the big dogs to it. My foster family play games with me, and are training me to Sit and Come – they give me little treats and I like that a LOT as apparently food is the way to my heart like most men (or so my foster mummy says!). I’m a very fast eater and my family is teaching me to slow down when eating my breakfast and dinner so I don’t get indigestion. I wasn’t fed very well when I was a baby so I’m making up for lost time. My new family will need to continue my training when eating so that I realise that I will always get fed now

I’m a really good sleeper after a hard day of playing - I’m happy to sleep in my own cosy bed on the floor. I curl up with my foster sister and we sleep the whole night through. When I wake up in the morning my foster mummy quickly runs with me outside so I can go to the toilet, she says that I’m learning very fast and that I’m a very good boy because I usually get it right (most of the time!) I love being told I’m a good boy so I’m working very hard but I can still have accidents if you forget to watch me as I’m still very little.

We have a cat next door and she swiped me once when I sniffed her, it scared me and I cried and so I got lots of cuddles (I like my cuddles!). But if you have a dog-friendly cat then I’m happy to try to say hello and make friends.

I’m an inside puppy and my foster mum says I need to be allowed inside when my new family is home, and that I must sleep inside at night even when I grow up. I would best suit a furever home with another friendly playful dog or someone who is home a lot - I’m too social and young to be left alone for long periods of time. I will need plenty of affection, exercise, training and socialization as I grow up, and I would really love to go to puppy-training classes as I love to meet other dogs.
