About Lilly ~ On Trial 20/2/15
Lilly is a stunning and friendly 9 year old golden cocker spaniel. Lilly is a friendly girl – she gets along well with other dogs, children and adults. She is a well-mannered senior and is quite un-assuming as she potters around the house with you. When you pat her and tell her she is beautiful she makes an endearing purring noise and leans into you for more.
She comes when called, will sit when asked, is house trained and is well behaved with food. \ Actually food is one of her favourite things – she isn’t fussy at all! She sleeps inside on a comfy doggy bed and sleeps the whole night through. She loves her walks, and has great energy levels for a senior – she will happily join you for a daily stroll. She’s not really into playing with dog toys (as she thinks those are for the young pups!) and would prefer cuddle time instead.
Lilly is medium sized and would suit a home with another dog that isn’t too rough or over exuberant – she is a senior after all. She would love a family who will give her a lot of attention and will love her throughout her senior years. \ Lilly is an inside dog and will not suit a home where she is left outside for long periods of time. She will need access to come in or out of the house during the day.
Lilly would be great with children over 8 years old - she is interacts well with kids but she doesn’t like her tail being pulled so she will need to be with children who are old enough to understand not to do this. At her previous home she was the only dog, however she’s currently in foster care a friendly kelpie and they get on very well.
Lilly would love a home where she can be included as part of the family. Being a cocker spaniel she will require some grooming - she loves being brushed so she is happy to be spoilt and have you look after her gorgeous gold locks. Lilly is a delightful, easy-going girl who will win you over at first woof.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
