About Barney
Barney is a fun loving, affectionate and chilled little man. He is currently in foster care with his sister Bonnie and lucky enough to have an awesome foster brother Floyd, who has been a great teacher for these 2 little cherubs. He is also living with 2 young children aged 10 and 6 years and is very much used to being handled and cuddled by them. He will let them know when he's had enough though. Barney enjoys playtime with Bonnie but is happy to sit back and watch the world go by when Floyd joins in. He's an inquisitive pup who loves to explore the garden and always greets his foster family with a wiggly bum and wagging tail.
This sookie little boy thrives on attention from his human fosters and loves a good game of chase! He enjoys his snuggles at night with his foster family and has been allowed to live both inside and outside and is very much part of the family. Barney is hoping his new family will also allow this.
Barney would love a playmate to keep him company while his human family go to work and school but would also cope being an only dog, as long as he was an active member of the family and given the opportunity to socialise with other furry friends on a regular basis. His foster mum and dad have been teaching Barney to 'sit' before meals and getting treats and he is trying really hard with toilet training. Barney will need ongoing training and socialisation so that he develops into a well-mannered and sociable boy who I'm sure will bring many years of love to his home.
Medical notes
Barney came into care with a decent size overbite and his bottom canines were cutting into his top gum so whilst at the vet, he had the top of the teeth shaved down so this is no longer causing him any pain.
Adoption details
Barney will be available for adoption once his vetwork is complete, which should be this coming weekend - 14/15th February 2015.
Wally's like all of our rescues to be adopted into families that will continue their socialisation and allow their dogs inside of the home on a regular basis to ensure that they feel part of the family. This is particularly so if they are to be an only dog.
Barney is located on the Central Coast of NSW where he lives with his foster family.
