About Xena ~ On Trial 17/4/15
Xena is a sweet natured and friendly 9.5 year old yellow pure Labrador. Xena's specialty is that she adores everyone and she particularly loves children of any age. Being a senior she's not jumpy or boisterous - she's calm and gentle when meeting new people and she doesn't knock children over. She is constantly wearing a big smile from ear to ear and her sweeping tail is always wagging.
Xena loves to lay at your feet or she follows you around as you potter in the yard gardening. She's in heaven getting ear tickles and will roll onto her back for belly rubs - she doggy talks to you for more pats and cuddles. She is used to sleeping outside but she would love to sleep indoors on a cosy bed as she's very well behaved when she's inside.
Xena will play fetch with a ball and enjoys the company of children who will play with her. She's not a fence jumper, she loves to chomp on a bone and loves her food - she's not fussy at all.
Xena loves walks and would adore an active furever family who will take her on a daily walk. She enjoys saying hello to people and other dogs along the way. Xena likes to meet other dogs and have a play. She is best suited to a home with a young playful male dog as she is very found of their energy and games. Xena will nudge other dogs to play with her and then it's game on! She loves to have a great chase around the yard with her doggy pals.
Xena loves water and will join your family for a swim in the pool if you have one. She loves to splash in her clam pool in the yard. If you live near the beach or a lake she'd love to come on outings and join you for a paddle.
If you would like to give Xena a loving home for her senior years please contact Jo on jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com. Xena is in care near Gosford, NSW Central Coast and is not available for adoption interstate.
Xena's adoption fee is $300 and includes her desexing, vaccination, flea and worm treatments, microchipping and registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
