Bonnie ~(Trial 28/2/15)(Deaf Dog)

Hi my name is Bonnie, a 16 week old, female, blue cattle dog X. My foster mum reckons you will fall in love with me 3 seconds after you meet me! You see, I love every person and every dog I meet. Have you always wanted to own a cattle dog but were told they can bark a lot, well I am NOT that cattle dog, I am one that doesn't bark much at all! You see I am deaf, therefore the only time I bark is when I am trying to get my foster brother and sister to play with me, the rest of the time my foster mum doesn't even know I am here. I play quietly all day, I sleep inside at night quietly, I get up in the morning quietly, when my foster mum goes out for a few hours I watch her drive away and sit at the gate quietly. My foster mum leaves me in the yard while she goes out and feeds the horses and I sit at the fence quietly waiting for her to come back.

Some people may see my deafness as a disability but my foster mum thinks it's beautiful. I will never be scared of thunder storms or fireworks, or bark every time I hear a noise. You will never disturb me while I am sleeping and there is something so beautiful about gentling patting a dog to wake it up and have it be soooo happy to see you :)

I am a cattle dog that loves to play, so I would like a play mate that loves to play too. I currently live with my foster mum and dad and 2 kids aged 6 and 8, and 2 dogs who have not been socialised much and I love them all to pieces! I especially love it when my foster family spends time outside doing their jobs or playing so I get to spend lots of time with them. But when they are finished and go inside I stay outside and just play on my own or with my foster brother and sister or have a sleep. I come inside at night because the other dogs I live with sleep inside at night, but if you had a dog that slept outside during the night I could stay outside also if I had a nice warm spot to sleep.

I love sleeping at my foster mums feet while she does the dishes or gets on the computer. She has taught me not to jump on the furniture so I just sleep at her feet instead. I am also independent and can take myself off to my bed for a sleep. I love kids, but can get very excited so my foster mum thinks it would be best if your kids were aged 5 and over so I didn't intentionally knock them over.

I love the water and will chase the hose all day! I also love to play fetch. I am not suitable to be around cats, horses or free range animals such as chooks etc as I do love to chase things. It would be very hard for me to be called back if I got into trouble, and I wouldn't be able to hear a car if I got onto a road so it is very important that you have secure fences and keep me on lead to keep me safe.

I love car trips and going to the park and would most likely love going to the beach and meeting other dogs. My foster mum has taught me some hand signals to sit, stay, no, good girl and come. I am extremely smart and a very quick learner and so eager to please. I just love life and will love you!
