About Pirate (D2880)
FROM PIRATE’S CARER
I got the phone call about another puppy coming into care. As always I was super excited and rushed to the vet clinic to pick him up and as soon as I saw him I knew he was extra special!
He had just had surgery to remove his left eye. He was sitting in his cage, showing a slight wag of his tail and not a care in the world that he would now spend the rest of his life with one eye. That's when we named him Pirate.
That day I had a friend over for a boxing class. My own two dogs went inside to escape the noise of the hitting of the pads and the echo under the patio. Pirate, however, stayed and sat watching; with a slight wag of his tail he was happy just to be with us. You wouldn't have guessed he’d had major surgery less than 24 hours prior. What a trooper!
Pirate has been in our care for almost two weeks and he can already sit and is toilet trained. He sleeps in a pen next to our bed and as long as he knows you are there he will sleep all night.
Little trooper Pirate is truly an amazing pooch and I feel honoured to have had the chance to be his foster carer. Whoever is lucky enough to have him join their family will be blessed for the rest of his life. Contact SAFE Karratha on 08 9185 4634.
Medical notes
Pirate has been fully vet checked. It’s uncertain whether his eye was injured or if he has a condition which might also occur in his healthy eye. But with Pirate’s resilient happy nature, we’re sure he will be happy should this possibility occur. His adoption fee will include desexing, microchipping and vaccination.
Adoption details
Pirate can easily be flown to his new home thanks to our ongoing support from QANTAS Air Freight and the Toll Group. SAFE’s successful fostering program relies heavily on flying animals from remote areas to their new homes in other parts of WA and interstate. You can feel safe adopting long distance because SAFE animals come with a “lifetime guarantee“. This means if they are not able to stay in your care for whatever reason, SAFE will always take them back, thus ensuring both humans and animals alike are happy with the match.
