About Kira (On Trial 2/3/15) ~ kelpie x
Are you looking for a cuddly companion who will be your couch buddy? Meet Kira a lovable 6 year old, female, kelpie x. Kira will happily accompany you to the beach, park or lake and loves her daily walk/s. However she is not your typical energetic kelpie girl, but rather a quiet and easy going lounge lizard. \ Kira walks at your pace when on lead and does not pull. She loves off lead time to have a little explore before returning when called.
Kira would love to go to a home where someone is home most of the day, so she can be your second shadow and steal lots of cuddles and attention. Kira loves to chew on bones but isn't big on toys, she’d rather get cuddles than play. Her ideal home would be a retired person or couple who have plenty time for her, without the loud noises and excitement of a young family home.
Kira would prefer to be an only dog or share the home with an older, gentle dog. She loves to have human company and laze the day away on her bed or, if allowed, she will happily join you on the couch!
Kira can be a little timid in new situations, especially when meeting new dogs and needs a slow introduction to make her feel reassured. She is toilet trained however she has the rare accident and will need a gentle reminder.
Kira is a kind-hearted, gentle soul and she is learning to follow simple instructions such as "sit", "here" and "out". She is a quiet dog and only barks with joy when starting out on her walks. Kira is in foster care in Toronto, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Kira's adoption fee is $300 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
