About Skippy
Tiny Skipper is a pocket rocket. He weighs only 2.8kg but what he lacks in size, he makes up in character.
This little boy is shy at first, but it only takes him a few minutes to decide if he likes you, and then he just LOVES those he meets! He loves to play and adores squeaky toys. He loves dragging around his tennis ball toy, regardless of the fact that he can't actually get his little mouth around the ball!
Skippy is affectionate and so loving. He gives you kisses and licks whenever he can, and adores being snuggled in bed with his family.
Skippy is good with other dogs and cats, however he'd also be fine being an only-dog as long as he gets lots of human attention!

Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Moorooka or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Skippy was given his name because he had a broken foot as a puppy that has healed abnormally. It doesn't bother him at all and it is not too noticeable. Skip was diagnosed by our vet with luxating patellas, however our vet has recommended we do not proceed with surgery. His patellas do not cause him pain or discomfort, and it doesn't seem fair to put him through a painful and traumatic surgery if it is not necessary.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a four week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
