About Gemma ~ Chihuahua X ~ (on trial 12/4/15)
Gemma is a 10yr old female Chihuahua x. Don’t let her age fool you, she has plenty of life left in her, and she practically floats with all the love and joy she has to give.
This gorgeous girl loves people and really treasures cuddle time. She will happily snuggle up to you and lap up all the attention you can give her whenever she gets the chance. When not on your lap or tottering by your feet, she is happy to wander off to her own warm soft cuddly bed where she will create herself a little hidey hole under the blankets. One thing for sure about Gemma, she loves her creature comforts, But what girl doesn’t?
Gemma enjoys her morning strolls and walks beautifully on lead. She sits when told, comes to her name and doesn't mind traveling in the car one bit. In fact, despite her petite size she will happily jump up and make herself comfortable for the trip.
While not a big barker, she will let you know when there is a stranger at the door. She may come across as shy at first but warms up quickly when her human companion helps her realise this is just another friend to get cuddles from.
Gemma is a beautiful healthy girl with a lovely nature and sweet temperament. She would prefer to be an only dog so she can lap up all the love without having to share it with another fur companion. She is great with children as her size is not at all imposing. She is just so darn cute they will want to hug her. When it comes to babies, well they don’t hold that much interest and they generally only get a sniff before she walks away. Babies after all are not going to give her the cuddles she expects from her human companions.
Gemma is fully house trained and is a joy to have around. Her ideal home would be where she is allowed inside the house and is an integral part of the family. This beautiful girl would suit any family with someone who is home most of the time to keep her company. On the occasions she must be left alone she will have a snooze outside or will settle down and sleep on her bed if inside. She has shown no signs of destructive behavior so inside would be best for her when alone.
This beautiful girl deserves a home of her own, where she can be loved and well looked after for the rest of her life. If you can provide a wonderful home for this adorable little sweet heart we would love to hear from you.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
