About Eddie
I'm trying a new home to see if i like it!!
Goldie oldie - special person -
Special price!!
Eddie came to us from the pound in a deplorable condition. He was matted to the skin and was very neglected when he arrived at our vet so eddie's coat was stripped off, his ears and eye's were cleaned and he had the usual vet work done. Eddie was then delivered to his foster carer with a bundle of medication for his skin and eyes. His foster carer has taken great care of eddie and he is looking like a new boy now. His coat is growing back and looks fabulous! his ears and eyes are clearing up but he does suffer with 'dry eye' which is common in dogs like eddie whose previous owners have not taken care to keep hair from growing into them. Eddie's eyes now sparkle with the improvement and he has become a regular little dog that enjoys his life as much as his carer enjoys having him around. Eddie is house trained and his new home must be as a house dog. He enjoys playing with his doggy foster friends but he would be ok as an only dog as long as he had lots of human attention. Eddie doesn't particularly need long walks and just a small walk each day would be plenty. His coat will grow back and will require grooming. He will also require eye drops to keep his eyes moist and comfortable but we are hopeful that, once his eye condition is under control, the drops required can be purchased over the counter from the chemist. Update 23 january: eddie has been to the doggy opthalmologist and is found to be suffering from entropion. The simple explanation of this painful condition is that the eyelashes grow onto the eyes causing great discomfort to the dog. Eddie will be having surgery done to correct this condition and does not have a lot of vision either but does manage to hide that fact very well and lives quite a normal life (or as normal as possible for a dog with limited vision). Despite this being a problem, eddie just gets on with life, greeting his foster carer with love and kisses when she gets home and enjoying walks as he sniffs his way along the path and grass. Eddie is a perfect example of a dog that has been very neglected in his previous life but who is now appreciating all that is being done for him. He is a very sweet and lovely little dog that does not complain about anything ever! eddie's foster carer loves him to pieces and who wouldn't? any human who has been through the pain that eddie must have endured for all these years would probably be on some sort of anti depressant by now!! eddie's pain will be over once the surgery is done but it doesn't come without cost.
