About Harley ~ American Staffy x (On Trial 16/5/15)
Harley is a beautiful male American Staffy X and he is roughly 16 months old. This big boofy boy has such loving soulful eyes he will surely melt your heart. His gorgeous colouring and cheeky grin mirror the wonderfully huge heart of gold within. Harley loves attention and showing his sweet side.
This little legend is a joy to be around. Full of energy and love, he just wants to please. As with most Staffy dogs he loves people and just want to be with you. Harley loves tagging along behind you, being your shadow and best buddy. He loves being with the family and will happily cuddle up inside watching some TV. When outdoors Harley sure loves to play, running around the back yard with a ball or frisbee or wrestling around with other fun dogs. Harley never misses an opportunity to clown around and make you laugh. Wherever you are or whatever you are doing, Harley is in.
Harley knows basic commands, and is getting better on lead. Further training is recommended as it will make sure he never forgets his manners. We suggest dog training classes or the like to all dog owners, as this will strengthen the bond with your new best friend. It will help Harley gain even more confidence, social skills and teach him fun new tricks. The social side of training is so important and he will get to play and socialise with other dogs, and nothing beats a good play date.
When it comes to food Harley is basically a vacuum with fur. He has got manners and waits for his dinner but once he is allowed to start it is a sight to be seen.
He has been living with chooks, birds, reptiles and rabbits and he leaves them be. He has not been living with children so we don’t know how he is with them. His loving nature however suggests he would make a great family dog.
Like with all Harley he will need exercise and mental stimulation to keep him occupied and physically and mentally fit. This could be in the form of treat dispensing toys and puzzles, long walks along the beach or even a game of footy.

(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
