Copper (Trial 7/2/15) Dachshund x Chi puppy

This gorgeous little boy is named Copper. He is a 9 week old Dachshund x Chihuahua puppy. He is a very relaxed little boy. He is living with other small dogs at his foster carer's house and enjoys chasing and wrestling with them. After playtime he will crawl up on your lap for a snooze.

We are teaching him a few basic commands and have started housetraining. We recommend puppy training classes for all puppies. He will need a daily walk, toys, and interaction with people. Puppies are a big commitment for approximately 15 years.

Copper is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. He can get frightened at times as she is still learning to trust humans. He loves food and isn't fussy and eats all the different puppy foods we have offered him.

Copper would love a home with children or another small dog to play with as he is an active young man. Children should be 7 years or older as Copper is very small and could be accidently dropped or hurt by little children. He will need a home with fencing with no small gaps that he could squeeze his tiny self through.

As Copper is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he’s 5 months old.
