About Kyle (On Trial 5/2/15) ~ Kelpie X ~
Kyle is a handsome male red Kelpie X. It’s hard to believe this playful chap is 10 years old. He is happy, healthy and full of beans. If he’s not out enjoying a nice hike in the bush or a run in the park, he's bringing you his ball wanting just one more game of fetch..... ok, perhaps a couple more games.
Kyle is a smart, loyal boy. He is fully house trained, has mastered basic commands and is great on lead. He is great with kids as well as other dogs. Kyle really is a combination of everything needed to make the perfect companion.
Kyle is respectful of people’s property and has never shown any signs of destructive behaviour or chewed anything up while in our care. He loves his toys, soft toys, squeaky toys and of course balls and takes good care of them. He gets on with anyone who will throw a ball.
Kyle also loves water.... but who doesn’t? Playing under the hose or in a paddle pool on a warm day is blissful. He can be a little timid around the ocean, after all huge waves and an endless stretch of water, it can be a little off-putting, but with some training and confidence boosting exercise we believe he will overcome this discomfort. If going to the beach is a priority for his new family then learning to love the ocean is better than missing out on family time.
Kyle is wonderfully gentle, but can forget himself on occasion and rush past while chasing his ball. For this reason we believe he would be perfect for a family with school aged children who could throw the ball and hold their own. He would also be fine with younger children given supervision. He would make a great watch dog as he will bark to let you know when someone's coming. His barking is not excessive however, and when he does bark there tends to be a reason for it.
His positively joyful approach to life is awe inspiring. Kyle is happy as a single dog, provided he gets attention and play time with his people. He wouldn't mind being in a multi dog house hold either as that means more friends to play with. Kyle is happy enjoying the outdoors, or cuddled up inside where he knows to behave himself.
He is capable of jumping when he wants to, so secure fencing is a must. Kyle doesn’t try to escape and will come back when called on most occasions, but chasing a cat might be too exciting to resist. He has not been tested with cats or other small animals while in care so his reaction to them is not yet known.
Kyle’s zest for life, excellent temperament and loving nature would make him a wonderful addition to the family. He is waiting ever so patiently to find his furever home and just can't wait to meet you.
For more information or to meet Kyle, please contact his foster carer Samantha on 0425 329 661 or email. Kyle is in foster care in Wangi Wangi, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Kyle's adoption fee is $100 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
