Chase ~ On Trial 14/2/15

Chase is a happy-go-lucky 4 month old Husky X Border Collie puppy. He is very sociable and loves to be around people all the time. He is very friendly and once he has met you he will give you hugs and cuddles and want to be your best friend. In fact, if given the choice he would spend his time in your arms or on your lap. He needs a family who can give him lots of attention.

Chase is great with kids. He is currently in a home with 6 and 8 year old boys - he will play and run for ages. He has lots of energy and needs to go to a home where he will get lots of exercise. He would be good in a home with children or other active family members. Chase does not like to be left on his own for too long, so a home with another dog, or someone who is home most of the time is required.

Chase is still working on toilet training - he mostly goes outside but if left inside too long he can still have the occasional accident. \ Chase is in foster care with pocket pets, and he shows too much interest in them so he is best suited to a home with no pocket pets or cats.

Due to his breed, Chase will need a yard with at least 6 foot fences around, as Huskies are good jumpers and climbers. At 4 months he can already jump up on things a metre off the ground. The yard will need to a reasonable size as he is very active.

Chase is beginning to learn to walk on a lead. He can be a bit nervous of the world outside his yard, but is quickly learning to walk and run with his foster sister (an 11 year husky). Chase is too young to be let off the lead as he is only just beginning to venture out. He is very intelligent and is already learning the commands sit, down, off, outside, no, and come. \ He still needs to practice, but would like to be trained as he gets very excited when he gets it right and gets lots of praise. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training and socialisation.

Chase loves other dogs, and though cautious when first meeting them he very soon warms up and has a good play. He is quick to learn his boundaries with other dogs, and getting better with doggy etiquette every day. Chase has been good in the car, and needs to be safely secured with his doggy car harness for any car trips he takes.
