About Poppy
-2 YRS OF AGE
-TEENAGERS +
-STRONG HANDLERS
-NO CATS
-SINGLE DOG HOME
Hi, my name is Poppy and I am a brindle girl of 2 and a half years of age. Tragically my owner died and I need a new home.
I have a beautiful nature and love spending time with my humans. I am good in the house and like to sit on your feet. In the evenings I am happy if I can lie on the couch beside you getting the odd tummy rub.
I really enjoy going for a morning walk. I am full of energy and love playing with balls, a Kong or swinging from ropes. I do not like water.
I have been staying with Rocky & June who have been doing some training with me, but I am ready for my forever home now.
I get very excited when I see other dogs or walk past them at their house so I need on-going training in that area. SRV highly recommend a course with Four Paws K9 Training so I can learn not to get so excited around other dogs because that could cause a problem.
I need a strong experienced dog owner to adopt me who is willing to continue the good work that Rocky & June have put in with me.
I also need someone home a lot as losing my owner has been hard on me.
I will make a fantastic family dog and love to be around my humans.
I would suit someone who goes running because I'm very fit and need lots of exercise.
I haven't lived with children but older teenagers would be OK.
Also I haven't lived with another dog so it's best I go to a single dog home until I've had some training around other dogs. I have run with other dogs at SRV and I'm fine with them but to live with another dog might be too much at the moment.
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan: jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every 2-3 weeks to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
