About Voltair & Cleo
WA - Voltaire and Cleo are 4 year old male and female Harlequin Great Danes who are being rehomed with assistance from the GDLAWA. Due to a drastic and unexpected change in their owners living arrangements, she has sadly been forced to find them a new home. They have lived their whole lives together on a 5 acre property where they can romp and play though they spend a lot of time chilling out on their bed! They currently live happily surrounded by horses, Llamas and other dogs however have only had interactions with them over the fence. They have not lived with cats.
Voltaire and Cleo are real ‘people dogs.’ \ They love visitors and can get a little excited when they see the opportunity for cuddles but settle quickly to enjoy them. They haven’t lived full time with children but seem naturally quite gentle around kids when in their company and so could live with school aged children familiar with giant dogs. They are used to being outside a lot with access to good shelter but also know how to come inside and lay quietly to enjoy some TV at night. They presently sleep on a king size bed in their “own bedroom“ on the patio.
Walking on lead isn’t something they’ve done much of but they do know basic commands and are a pleasure to be around. They are not destructive and love being bathed and being hosed down on hot days.
These guys have an enormous amount of love and life in them and are just two big "love bugs". We’d dearly like to try and keep them together, but if need be they could adapt to life apart for the right homes. They are in good health other than Voltaire having an hygroma (swelling) on the back of his elbow which causes him no discomfort and does not require treatment. Although they have always lived on property and not spent much time on lead, we think they would adapt to a suburban home with a big couch and a decent daily walk for exercise. We have no doubt these two love bugs will fill their new home with love and endless joy as they really are such sweet, loving souls.
