About Reggie (Trial 5/2/15)~ Foxy x Jack Russell Terrier
Meet Reggie! 6 year old Foxy x Jack Russell boy. He is a beautiful, obedient and playful dog who loves to be around people. He is a quiet boy who is happy just to be around people. He loves to play fetch and go for a walk. He loves cuddles, pats and attention, but is also happy to just lay around and let you get on with your jobs. He is very clever and switched on and seems to understand what you are asking of him. He is very obedient and listens to instructions well.
Reggie has settled into my busy home within the first day, surrounded with noisy kids, and he has been great! He is housetrained. He is inside most of the time at the moment, and goes out to do his business and have a run around in a fenced back yard. He would also suit being kept outdoors as he is a small to medium sized dog. He loves to sit on the lounge next to you, but always listens when told to get down if not allowed. He is great around other dogs, currently housed with my 6 month old Chihuahua, and is always gentle and keeps down to his size to be fair.
Reggie is great in the car. He will sit when told to and stays there. He must be kept on a lead at all times when out of the yard as he will wonder off. He is currently sleeping in my en suite. He goes in and goes straight to sleep until let out in the morning.
I have guinea pigs and this is the only time I see Reggie getting a bit too excited trying to get into the cage so I just keep them separate. His interest in out guinea pigs is very natural as terriers were bred to hunt rodents.
Reggie elderly owner passed away recently and so Reggie came into the care of DRN. Reggie would suit an older couple or even a family. He can be an only dog or live with a dog his own size that he can play with. I would recommend older children say over 7 years as he is a strong little fellow. He is great with my 7 and 9 year olds. My 7 year old took him for a small walk on his lead and he was great with her.
If interested in meeting Reggie or would like more information, please contact foster carer Jen by calling on 0421 600 214, or text me and I can call you back. Alternatively email jen-drn@outlook.com I can either email you a copy of the adoption questionnaire or can do it over the phone.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
