About Trixie (special home needed)
Trixie is a very mischievious and playful little dog. She has lots of character and spunk. She is a bit taller than the average chihuahua, however smaller than the average Min Pin! Trixie has the nature of a Miniature Pinscher - she is joyful and dances around and very playful.
She loves those she knows and is very loyal, however is fearful and unaccepting of strangers. She is protective of those she loves, and she would be best in a home without small children as she finds them intimidating. Trixie also dislikes men, although we are working on that.
We do not know what happened in the past for Trixie, but we know that she has suffered cruelty. What Trixie needs most is someone who will commit to her 100% and work with her on her fears and insecurities. Once she loves you, Trixie gives you her whole heart but we can't cope with being moved around any more.
Trixie would do best in a home with an experienced owner as she likes to be a bit bossy at times, but is a loyal and fantastic companion so we know we'll find the perfect home for her. She is not suitable for a home with children.

Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Trixie has a severe luxating patella, and has had her patella surgically repaired. She has had xrays and blood tests in preparation for the surgery. Although she is fully healed now, she walks a little stiffly and will need joint supplements throughout her life.
