About Bambi
Sweet little Bambi has recently come into our care as she was not coping in the shelter environment. Bambi is a little bit shy, however once she trusts you and knows that you won't hurt her, she comes right out of her shell and is playful and joyful!
Bambi is best to be in a home without children as she's not been exposed to kids and finds them a bit scary. She doesn't how aggression towards children, she is just very frightened. Bambi loves other dogs and cats, and we'd love for her to be adopted into a home with a playmate. Because she was under-socialised as a puppy, it would be great to have another dog to help show her how to be a dog!
Our vet thinks Bambi is a Chihuahua x Dachshund. She is small, only weighing 4kg, however she has short little legs and a long body! We think she's just gorgeous!
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Moorooka or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a four week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
