About Petal (On Trial 23/1/15) ~ Kelpie x Cattle puppy
Hi my name is Petal, yes as in a flower petal and I’m a 9 week old kelpie cross cattle dog puppy. My foster mum thought I was a little delicate when she first picked me up due to me being so much smaller than my brothers and sisters. I soon proved her wrong when I showed everyone that size doesn’t matter and I can play rough and tumble games and keep up with my siblings. After that she nicknamed me Pocket Rocket as I’m pretty quick on my paws!
I love to run around the backyard playing with my brothers and sister. I also like to watch the pocket pets in their hutch, they are fun little creatures so I run around their cage following them. I have a lot of toys to play with and 2 human foster sisters that keep me occupied and tire me out.
I love to snuggle when it’s not hot and I adore lots of pats when I sit still long enough. I sleep on a doggy bed with my siblings and I am getting better with toilet training - as I am still young I do have accidents sometimes. Most days when it’s nice outside, my foster mum leaves the door open so I can play outside and come in for a rest.
I am an inside puppy and so I need to be allowed inside when my family is home – I must sleep inside at night even when I’m older.
My foster mum says I would best suit a furever home with another friendly playful dog or someone who is home a lot. I am very social and too young to be left alone for long periods of time. I would love to go to puppy-training classes when I’m a little older as my foster mum says they will give me the best start in life.
My sisters and brothers (there are 10 of them!) are also available for adoption.
If you would like to meet me, please contact my foster mum Rachael on 0410 575 264 or email connells3179@hotmail.com. I am in foster care near Wyong, NSW (Central Coast) and am not available for adoption interstate. I will be ready to go to my forever home on the 24th of January when I am 10 weeks old.
My adoption fee is $450 and includes my desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and micro chipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
