About Della
Della is a lovely young lady. She is very dog social, she gets on well with horses, rabbits, cats, chickens and even rats. She isn't high energy and is OK with a short romp in the garden with her canine pals followed by a lengthy snoring session. Della prefers to sleep spread eagle with belly facing the sun. Della isn't one of the doggy geniuses of the world, but she is a relatively quick learner and what she learns sticks. She is learning the basics like 'come', 'sit', 'wait' and 'roll around in the grass barking at flowers' really well. She has not had one accident since being inside and will whinge and whine at the laundry door when nature calls. She has had limited outings but has proven to have a quiet confidence when out and about. She is not timid and loves meeting new people and dogs and experiencing new things. Della constantly has her foster family in fits of laughter, she is the comedian of the dog world. From deliberately barking at the other dogs to startle them awake or playing a game of hide 'n' seek with the equally hilarious cat, she never ceases to amuse. Like every young sighthound she loves nothing more than zooming around the yard at 100 miles at hour making the other (much slower) dogs dizzy before falling dramatically on her side, puffed out and smiling. Her foster family would recommend her as a lovely companion for a young family with children or someone with other dogs and a relatively active lifestyle. She is definitely happier with company so a single dog family would not be ideal for Della. She is currently being crate trained and is very happy in her crate and will sleep throughout the night without complaint. She loves spending time with her people the most and would need a family or person committed to spending quality time with her every day as she was born to be a companion dog.
