Meet Dex. He is listed as a Kelpie x Border Collie and is 15 months old. He came into care with Farmdogz Rescue Inc after a plane trip down from Queensland after a terribly regretful surrender from his previous owners. He has been cherished his whole life and he definitely knows how to get what he wants – pats! Ignore Dex’s adoring puppy eyes and waggly tail for a little too long, and you will soon have a little wet nose nudging its way under your hand. This super smooch is very people oriented. Even while drugged out on anaesthetic from his desexing operation, Dex still managed to slide his way off the couch and stagger to the front door when he heard his foster dad arrive home. This loyal pooch desperately wants to be by your side.
He was quite nervous when he first got off the plane, but the moment we gave him a hug, he was sold on us! He has an excellent reliable recall, so the moment he hears you call his name, he comes prancing towards you. He will sit, drop and wait on command and is constantly watching for your next direction. He walks well on leash, but will happily walk with you off leash. He is crate trained, and will sit on a mat if it is asked of him. He loves to play with other dogs but his style of play may not suit everyone. When all his foster siblings are charging around while you throw the ball outside, Dex would much prefer to sit beside you, getting pats from your other hand. This handsome fella is quiet and mature beyond his years. He will happily watch the world go by with you. Whatever you’re doing, he wants to be a part of it. Dex has truly stolen our hearts, and will be a very difficult foster to let go. Truly, a one of a kind, warm hearted dog.
Dex’s adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he is up to date with fleaing and worming.
