About Ruby & Kitty
Ruby - Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, 5.5kgs
Kitty – Shih Tzu (black and white), 6.5kgs
These 2 lovely ladies are ready to find their forever humans.
Ruby and Kitty would love to stay together as they are best friends forever and are rarely apart. They are both 6 years old, spayed and in good health.
Despite their tough start to life they bare no grudge and are happy, friendly little dogs who have a knack of always being close by in case a lap becomes available to sit on or you feel like giving them a pat!
They are great with other animals and older children and are happy to quietly laze about home if you have work to do or need to leave them for a couple of hours. They are still a bit nervous and bark when new people come to the house and are a bit timid in new situations, but are gaining confidence each day. They both got the rescue dog buzz cut a few weeks ago, but since have started growing out and should soon be back to their full fluffy gloriousness. They are very good girls when I bath them so will be nice and easy to keep clean. Both are almost fully house trained (couple of accidents) and have learnt to sit, they are very motivated by food, cheese especially, which should make further training easy.
With her crooked smile and funny character everyone who has met Kitty has fallen in love with her. Kitty is the more outgoing, she is very good on the lead and doesn’t pull, preferring to stay close to your heels and stop for the occasional sniff of something interesting. She is an amazing jumper and can easily leap into the car and onto your lap, as such she needs a home with a good fence to ensure her adventures are limited to the back yard. Some of her favourite past times include rolling around in front of you looking as cute as possible in the hope that she gets some belly tickles and building herself a nest out of any discarded clothes and socks she can find.
Ruby is more timid at first, but once she gets to know you she has a big personality for such a small dog, charging round the garden with the other dogs making sure she isn’t missing any of the fun. Ruby is not overly athletic, whilst she appreciates a daily walk and sniff she would not be suitable as a jogging companion or to go on long walks as she likes to amble along taking it all in at a leisurely pace. Ruby loves to love and will dramatically flop down next to you demanding affection, as she always wants to be close to you she can get under foot so you will need to take care not to trip over her, as such she probably wouldn’t be suitable for families with young children.
