About Puppy Duke (On Trial 8/2/15)
Introducing Duke, an adorable, 10 week old, small to medium sized, mixed breed \ puppy (fox terrier plus some other breeds). If you are looking for a best friend, then look no further! Duke is an incredibly happy, smoochy boy who just loves to cuddle! He is very people-orientated and LOVES affection of any kind. He will follow you wherever you go, and will happily lay on your foot when he is ready to be picked up for a cuddle.
Whilst Duke loves his cuddle time, he is full of energy and enjoys playing rough and tough with his best friend and brother, Dozer (also up for adoption). He spends his days playing, and exploring the garden with his best mate. Duke is a healthy boy and has been very well socialised with other dogs and puppies. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all different breeds, sizes and ages.
Duke would make the perfect family companion. He loves to be around children, and is more than happy to be carried around by our 10 year old, or simply just snuggle up on the lounge with her.
Duke is an inside/outside dog during the day, and sleeps inside at night. He is a very busy little boy, with lots of exploring to do, and so he is happy to be outside while the sun is shining, and then come inside for a rest before he sets off again on his next adventure.
Duke is new to toilet training so his new family will need to continue his training as he grows. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. Duke will be an active boy, so he will need a daily walk or run, and toys and interaction with his family to occupy himself.
Duke’s ideal home would be with anyone who can give him the love and affection he needs, along with an active lifestyle and time inside. Duke will need to have another doggy friend to play with at home, as he is very playful and incredibly social with his foster brothers and sisters.
Duke is available for adoption to the following areas: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens. He is not available for Interstate adoption.
For more information or to meet Duke, please ring Tegan on 0412 072 830. Duke is in foster care in Eleebana, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle).
Duke’ $450 adoption fee includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
