About Jarrah ~ On Trial 18/1/15
Jarrah is a playful 8 week old kelpie puppy. Jarrah is very cheeky and loves to play with her toys and run around the house with her sisters Pi and Minx playing chasing. All three sisters like to play tug-of-war with one toy - usually their favourite which is a rubber chicken! Jarrah likes to take cover under the lounge with their toys and bark at her sisters to come and get her.
Jarrah is very snuggly after a hard day of playing and will cuddle up in your lap or on a doggy bed with her sisters for a long nap. She sleeps through the night in a cosy bed inside with her sisters.
Jarrah is in foster care with 2 adult dogs and 5 cats and she gets on well with all of them. She also likes to play with children - she would suit families with older children as younger children may accidentally hurt her as she’s so tiny. Jarrah is very small for a puppy her age so we think she may be mixed with a slightly smaller breed - it's hard to predict what size she will be when older - perhaps smaller than an average kelpie.
Jarrah would best suit an active furever home with another friendly playful dog or someone who is home a lot if there is no other dog to play with. Jarrah is very social and too young to be left alone for long periods of time. She is new to toilet training so her new family will need to continue her training as she grows. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life and to continue socialisation. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training. Kelpies are an active and smart breed so her family will need to take her for daily walks once she's big enough.
Jarrah is an inside/outside dog and needs to be allowed inside when her family is home – she must sleep inside at night even when older. Dogs and puppies enjoy being part of the family and get comfort from being inside with their humans.
Jarrah’s siblings Pi and Minx are also available for adoption. They will be ready to go to their new homes on the 17th January when they are 10 weeks old.
For more information or to meet Jarrah, please contact Jo on 0427 695 104 or email jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com. Jarrah is in foster care near Gosford, NSW (Central Coast) and is not available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
