On Hold
About Clyde
Happy, playful, gentle and affectionate. Super easy to love. Very obedient, comes when called, placid and a bit of a ''sook''.
Other dogs
Yes. Clyde has a beautiful nature, loves everyone and is timid around dominant dogs. He is currently living with Billie (also available for adoption) https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/337430
Cats
Never seen one
Other animals
Clyde tolerates sheep, horses and bobtail skinks.
Kids
Clyde has been around babies and toddlers, not a lot, but enough for his carers to know that he would be ok with little ones. He has always been gentle and affectionate when around young children. However, Dog Adoption usually recommends primary school kids and older as a precaution.
Size
17 kgs
Exercise requirements
Medium - playful and energetic. He really loves his morning walks and loves to play tag with other dogs or people.
How is your dog on/off a lead?
Like most dogs Clyde starts off pulling but settles down nicely. His current family rarely uses a lead because of their quiet location but when they have he has been well behaved. He will stay close by and come when called.
Escape artist
No. Once you bond with Clyde he will be unlikely to wander off. He is currently living on a bush block and never strays far from his family. However, he does have a securely fenced yard when the family is not home.
Toilet trained
Yes
Tolerance to being alone
Good but as Clyde prefers company preference will be given to a home with another dog or where someone is home more often than not. While Clyde loves people he is very dog orientated too and loves a good play.
Likes
People, other dogs, food, water from hose, walks/running and bones.
Dislikes
He is timid around big aggressive dogs
Ideal home
He is used to a large play area, daily walks, lots of cuddles will curl up on your lap or by your feet while watching TV and thrives on attention. He would be an ideal family addition. Preference will be given to folks who are home more often than not and have properties with large open spaces or regular access to them.
Generally
Clyde has a beautiful nature, is placid, loving, playful, handsome and intelligent. This is a rare opportunity to adopt a dog that is likely to settle in easily and provide oodles of pleasure to a lucky family.
NB If you adopted both Billie and Clyde their adoption fees would be half. However, they can be separated.

Adoption details
We strongly recommend you read the dogs' profile carefully as everything we know about the dog/s is listed.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
