About Mardi (Trial 10/1/15) ~ Labrador x Mastiff puppy
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Mardi is a 10 week old, female, Labrador x Mastiff puppy. A typical puppy, she enjoys romping in the yard with our other dogs and playing with all sorts of toys. She is a healthy girl and has been very well socialised with other dogs and puppies and gets along fabulously with dogs of all different breeds, sizes and ages. I don't have a cat but she is young enough to think of a cat as just another playmate.
Mardi must be welcome in the house to be part of the family, and to sleep inside. She loves to be with people and would get lonely outside. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Mardi's sister Eve is also available for adoption. Eve is a little more shy than her sister but she is gaining confidence every day. Eve looks more Labrador while Mardi has the wrinkled forehead like a mastiff.
Mardi will grow up to be a medium to large sized dog. You will need solid fencing with solid material underneath such sleepers or concrete and no small gaps. She cannot go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire). Gates need to have locks on them to discourage dog thieves (sad but true). If she is to spend much time outside she'll need a kennel.
Mardi is playful puppy who will be wonderful with children 8 years and older. She needs a home where there is someone who doesn't work full time, such as a stay-at-home parent or retired person. It would be wonderful, but not a requirement, that Mardi has a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate.
Mardi is available for adoption to the following areas: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens. She is not available for Interstate adoption.
For more information or to meet Mardi, please ring Robyn 02 4953 7115 (preferred) or 0468 435 587 and leave a message (sorry, no email). Mardi is in foster care in Glendale, NSW (Lake Macquarie, south of Newcastle). Not available for interstate adoption.
Mardi's adoption fee is only $450 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
