About BJ (On Trial 20/1/15) Jack Russell Terrier x
BJ is a male, 7 year old, Jack Russell Terrier mix. He is very polite and is always happy and bubbly. He would make a lovely family dog as he is very adaptable and would suit a home with children and other dogs of all sizes.
BJ is currently in care with 6 other dogs who are all small breeds and he's great with them. He has always been very friendly to dogs of all sizes and is always interested in playing with them and greeting them with his big bushy tail. BJ loves his walks so he's a little keen straight out of the gate but he is doing very well with training and is very smart and eager to please.
BJ is a polite little dog. He never runs through doors unless asked, I think he would sit and wait on the other side of the door forever until you ask. He also is very gentle with his food and treats. He waits until you put the food on the ground and looks up to check it is okay to start eating. He is not a jumpy dog and rarely barks either. There is one trick that BJ knows very well and he is happy to show it off when asked and that is "sit". His dedication to this trick is making him a delight to train to do other tricks. BJ is also toilet trained and is an inside dog (he needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside).
BJ enjoys going on adventures and is always well behaved. He loves car rides and going to the beach or park for walks.
BJ's perfect home would be with another dog that he can play with and someone who is active who can take him on more outings and walks. He would be best in a home without cats or pocket pets as he is showing interest in them. He loves children while at the beach and on walks and is always excited to say hello. BJ is such a happy-go-lucky dog and enjoys being outdoors but would need a home that would allow him to sleep inside.
For more information or to meet lovely BJ, please contact Kirrily on 0401826295 or email c3090638@uon.edu.au . Tilly is in foster care in Port Macquarie NSW (2.5hrs north of Newcastle). He is available for adoption interstate.
BJ's adoption fee is only $300 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
