About Puppy Willow (pending adopt 17/1/15)~ Staffy x
Willow is an darling 6 week-old Staffy x puppy. If a gorgeous puppy with beautiful nature is what you are after look no further than Willow! She is a very happy, healthy and playful pup. She loves to interact with other puppies and her foster mum's other big dogs, so she'd be fine to go to a home with other dogs. Willow is terrific with children too.
Her favourite things to do are playing with children, playing with my sister Poppy, and snuggling with people. She loves to spend time with other dogs. Although she hasn't been introduced to cats, she is young enough to get used to them.
Willow was born with a cleft palate which will be repaired at DRN's expense when she is desexed at 4 months old. It doesn't affect her very much now. She eats and drinks normally, but can't chew on bones.
Willow and her sisters were dumped in the bush on the day they were born because of their cleft palates. Luckily they were found and were bottle fed by DRN foster carers. They are all in good health according to the vets.
Willow can be very active and cheeky when she feels comfortable and loved around you so will need someone who is prepared to walk and be active with her.
She is a very pretty puppy with the classic Staffy brindle colouring plus white socks on all of her feet. We think she'll grow up to be medium sized dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Willow is full of love and enjoys the company of people, she loves nothing better than being part of her human family and having cuddles and snuggles.
Due to Willow's young age she will require company from either her human family or from another dog because young pups cannot be left alone for long periods of time. Willow also needs to sleep inside at least, until she is fully grown (and preferably all her life), and we always recommend inside time with the family to ensure she feels loved by her family.
Willow will be ready to go to her forever home in mid January when she is 10 weeks old. But you can meet her now and, if approved, you can pay a deposit to reserve her for you. Willow and Poppy are in care in Toukley, NSW 2263 (Central Coast). Beauty and Melody are in foster care in Elermore Vale, NSW 2287 (Newcastle).
Willow and her sisters are available for adoption only to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because they need to come back to our vet for their cleft palate surgery and desexing at 4 months of age.
If you can offer Willow a loving, secure, wonderful forever home where she will be cherished and treated as part of the family then please contact Michelle by email mishl33@hotmail.com or phone 02 4951 1896 (Email is preferred). Please be patient if your email or phone call is not answered immediately as this time of year can be quite busy). You can speed up your application by downloading our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf then filling it out and emailing it to Michelle.
Willow's adoption fee is only $450 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
