About Storm
Hi, my name is Storm and I am a very handsome lad with a lovely shiny coat who turns 6 on Christmas Eve. I love to be around people and as I have been living with a stay at home mum I would like to be in a similar situation in my new home where I have human company most of the time.
I dislike being outside if I can see that there are people inside and want to be part of the action so will cry to get your attention. I am not that interested in balls or toys although I do love bones and pigs ears.
I will sit, lie down, roll, come here (all with no hand commands). Stop (with a flat palm). Up (with flat palm pointing to the sky)
I don't bark when the door bell goes or someone knocks on the door or comes to our side gate and am therefore not much use as a guard dog as I am just so very friendly and happy to see anyone who comes. I do jump up to get a pat and need some training to deter me from doing this. I was always supervised when I was with the young toddler I lived with and was very good with him even when the little boy hit me with his toys. But I am a little too excitable for him and sometimes pushed him over accidentally looking for a pat.
A relative often brought over her female maltese shitzu and we got on fine although mostly the other dog bounced around me and \ I used to stare at it wondering what drugs it was on !
On walks I occasionally pull on the lead to get to where I want to go. I am quite good at stopping at the curb without being told but usually forget to do this towards the end of the walk. I like walking in the water at the beach but have never been a ball chasing kind of dog.
I am scared of thunderstorms and will shake and want to be inside with you at these times. Nor do I like the low rumbling sounds of large trucks going by.
For Christmas I would like a new home with a family hopefully with older children whom I can play with and either with someone who is home a lot, maybe a retired couple or a tradie who can take me to work with him.
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan: jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every 2-3 weeks to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
