On Hold
About Carrie (On hold pending adopt~ Staffy x Kelpie pup
Hey! I’m, Carrie, 12 week old Staffy x Kelpie – adrenalin junkie by day sloth by night! (That’s right, I sleep through the nights beautifully, even though I am still a baby). It’s not uncommon for me to jump on the lounge and then dive into a commando roll back off and mum watches in amazement as I scale a huge dog crate in seconds using the rungs like a ladder. The only thing missing is my parachute!
While "Ninja" is my middle name I also don’t mind some quiet time and a bit of a snuggle. I even let mum nurse me like a baby and a tummy scratch is my ultimate reward but that usually rev’s me back up into energiser bunny mode. I’m only 12 weeks old so I need lots of toys, lots of play time and lots of new experiences, it will also be important that you take me to puppy pre-school or training classes so I can learn all that manners I need to please you.
I’m not scared of big dogs at all. I live in foster care with a German Shepherd and I can scare him sometimes when I do a little bark or if he’s chasing my sister I pretend to be scary and growl at him. I can even trick him into moving away from his dinner and I eat it while he isn’t looking. I have lots of spunk about me. I’m a big personality trapped in a little body, but that won’t be for long, you should see the size of my feet! I will grow into a medium sized dog and with kelpie in my breed I will need lots of walks and a backyard where I can stretch my legs, and it will need to have very secure fencing because I’m very good at squeezing through gaps.
I live with two other dogs and two 6 year old children and I get along great with everyone. \ I haven’t seen a cat yet but I am very young and sociable so perhaps we would be buddies. I sleep in the laundry at the moment. I’m getting quite good with my toilet training and when mum says “do wee’s” I usually do! It’s important that I can sleep somewhere warm and safe while I’m little and I need to have lots of time inside the house with my new family so I can feel included and loved.
Although my sister Alice drives me crazy, I do get very sad when we are separated so I be very happy to have a canine friend to play with in my forever home. If I’m going to be your one and only dog then I will need you to spend lots of time with me. I’m so much fun to have around and I want nothing more than to start the New Year with a family who love me! So what do you think. \ Can I move in?

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
