About Buster (On Trial 13/1/15) ~ Shih Tzu x Maltese
Buster is an adorable, 7 year old, little Shi Tzu x Maltese boy. Currently, he is living in a household with two young children aged 1 and 7. He can be a little timid and needs some time to get to know you and trust you before he fully relaxes into your household. He was very frightened of our 7 year old when he arrived in our home, but with patience and gentleness he has learnt to trust my son in a very short time, and greets him excitedly when he comes home from school.
Buster loves snuggles and belly rubs. He loves going for walks. He is a very sprightly 7 year old and can jump quite high so he will need secure fencing. He loves to potter around the house and garden but equally loves a good run around the park.
He is housetrained for toileting and we have begun basic training with him, teaching him simple commands such as sit, stay, down, on your mat etc.
During the day, Buster has been both inside and outside. He is happy to relax in the garden on his own but he especially loves being with you inside, and I would say he would love to be inside 99% of the time!
Busters coat needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
Buster would suit most households but wouldn’t be comfortable with boisterous children or lots of loud noise. He is a gentle soul and would love a gentle family. It would be great if he could have someone home at least some of the time during the day as he is such a loving, friendly dog who adores human company!
For more information or to meet Buster, please contact Donna by phone 0466 099 426 or email trudgetty@hotmail.com. Buster is in foster care in Swansea, NSW (Lake Macquarie) and is available for adoption interstate.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
