About Rafferty - Special Needs
Rafferty is an absolute delight! He is a sweet, gentle boy who has beautiful manners and a wonderful personality!
Raffy has damage to the nerves in his eyes that contract and expand his pupils. As a result, his pupils are always dilated, and he has a constant case of "Owl eyes" which we think just makes him all the cuter!
Rafferty's eyesight is not perfect, but it is more than enough for him to navigate without any issues. He can be sensitive to bright light, but normal lighting is fine for him.
Raffy loves other cats and would make a wonderful playmate for an active, friendly existing cat. Raff is a bit timid around dogs, and would prefer not to live with one.
Rafferty will need an indoor only home for the rest of his life, he is not suited to go outside and his new family will need to be committed to having an indoor only cat. Raff is very happy with this arrangement and shows no interest in going out.
Raffy is a beautiful, friendly, well mannered, affectionate boy who will make a wonderful addition to a variety of loving, indoor only homes!
Rafferty is in care in Templestowe.
Medical notes
Rafferty goes to his new home desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and flea and worm treated. Rafferty suffered damage to the nerves in his eyes prior to coming into care. As a result, his vision isn't 100%, but is good enough for him to function as a normal cat. Rafferty has need the leading eye specialist in Victoria and he is confident there is no on going treatment needed and Raffy's eyes shouldn't get any worse.
