About Zak
Zak is a sweet little Darwin dog, who came to us from our friends at the Darwin Animal Rescue Group. He is such a character and his a huge personality.
His missing leg does not slow him down, he loves to wrestle and play and would dearly love a new home who doesn't mind regular play time. He is working really hard with our team at using his manners around children and cats, so at this stage would be suited to a home with grown up children and no cats. Although he is missing a limb, Zak loves going for walks and we're looking for a family who will give him the exercise her requires. Zak needs his daily walks or he becomes bored.
Although he loves his walks, he loves his cuddles just as much and after a busy day with the family, he is a real snuggler on the couch. Zak loves his toys and his foster carers spoil him rotten.

Medical notes
Unfortunately, Zak came into care with a horrifically broken leg. The vet that saw him recommended amputation due to the severity of the break. Little Zak has been coping exceptionally well as a tripod and was on his feet running around within 24 hours of the surgery.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heart worm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please email chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com for an Adoption Application. From there, we will be in contact with you within 48 hours to talk further about your application and if successful, to arrange a meet and greet.
Prior to adoption, all dogs will need to have a meet and greet with their family, and a house check will be done. All adoptions are subject to a two week trial to ensure your new friend fits in well with your household.
We have many dogs that are in foster care and are not yet ready to be listed for a variety of reasons. If you have a good idea of what you are looking for in your new dog please email us at chihuahuarescueqld@gmail.com and let us help you match a dog to your needs.
