About Merve (On trial 20/12/14) ~ Staffy x
Merve is an 8 month old, male, Staffy cross. Merve’s a big puppy who loves to cuddle up to you. The best thing in the morning is waking up with his big head on your chest with his little tail whacking the drawers.
Merve is a very fast leaner and has learned to sit, stay, come, shake hands and roll over in one week! He’s learning to play with toys and he needs a little more toilet training. He loves a belly rub but it gets tricky when he tries to roll around and throw his paws in the air.
He is ok with dogs in a one-on-one situation however he gets nervous in a group situation and does not behave with other dogs when food is involved. Some training can improve this. Merve gets along with my small dog and cat but would best suit a home where he is the only pet as he is a big sook and tries to soak up all the attention!
Merve walks very well on a lead and will not tug, and he comes when called off-leash. He sleeps best indoors as he doesn’t like to be alone all night. He will suit any level of physical activity you want – he loves his lazy sleepy days and also big walks, he would be a good running companion. He’s becoming more confident on walks and now he stops to have a sniff at everything.
Merve will need a family where there is someone that is home most of the time as he frets when left alone (he’s getting better). He needs someone is committed to training and socialising him, and giving him the chance to be part of a loving family. He’s a lovely boy who just wants to keep you company and sit by your side. He will bring you lots of fun and happiness.
For more information or to meet Merve, please contact his foster carer Jacqueline on 0413-463-882. Merve is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Merve's adoption fee is only $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
