About Bowen
Bowen is a male pedigree yellow Labrador raised and trained in the Assistance Dogs Australia Program. He is 13 months old, desexed and is looking for a forever home.
Bowen has reached advanced training in the Program, however, has been released due to joint issues in his left elbow. Assistance Dogs typically work for several hours every day for most of their lives, so even though Bowen will not be suitable to be a working dog, he will make a lovable pet dog.
Apart from his elbow, Bowen is a healthy young dog with good hips and no skin issues or allergies. Vaccinations and worming have been maintained up to date throughout his life.
Bowen would suit a family that can play with him, take him on walks and swims, but also want a companion to keep them company. He also enjoys training and being challenged, so mental stimulation will further help Bowen learn and maintain the cues the he has learnt. Bowen is social and enjoys playing with dogs, and also loves being around people and bonds very quickly to his ‘people’. Bowen is good with handling, but will still need to meet all kid members of the family first if going to a family with toddlers.
Due to his elbow, there are future management considerations that can be discussed with our Vet, who has is full medical history.
All dogs from Assistance Dogs Australia have been microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea and wormed, trained and fed super premium food.
If you can give Bowen a home, please contact Rose Lobos on 0432668629
