About Akira
Hi, my name is Akira & I’m 5 and a half years old, I am a beautiful pure black girl with a dot of white on my chest. A better photo will be taken of me when I arrive at SRV so I'm hoping some of the other dogs are adopted real soon so I can arrive this week because I've heard it is doggie heaven there :)
I have a very caring and loving nature and very loyal to my owner. I’ve lived with another dog all my life which was a German Short Haired Pointer but sadly he passed away & since then I have been scared when left alone so I jump the fence to try and find company, oh and I really don’t like storms!!! So I need VERY secure fencing which SRV will want to sight.
The home I'm living at the moment has me outside all the time so sadly it makes things worse, so please don’t apply for me if you work full time and if you haven’t got a friendly dog for me to live with.
I’ve never been around cats so I don’t think I had better go to a home with one of those, I know people can train dogs to live with cats but SRV are worried if it’s not done properly I will be returned through no fault of my own.
I love to play with any sort of toys, I sit, I follow on, come and eat on command.
Best of all I love being around people so I would love a home with another dog but also people that are around a lot or work from home.
I get very excited when I’m around children so maybe older children would suit me more than little one’s.
I’m really good in the car. I’m very fit and healthy and up to date with my vaccinations including heart worm.
I haven't been house trained but it wont take 5 minutes to train me because if you know Staffords you will know we are very clean & clever :)
Adoption details
If you think you can offer me a forever home please go to
http://www.staffordrescuevictoria.org.au/index.php/adoption-forms-6
and fill out the Adoption Request Form. You will receive an email acknowledgement within 3 days. If you do not receive any further contact after this please do not be discouraged. It just means that a suitable application was received before yours. We encourage you to contact Jan: jan.hutton@optusnet.com.au every 2-3 weeks to show you are still interested in adopting. As we will already have your form on file it will fast track the process when a suitable dog does become available.
Adopt one of our dogs and we are there for you for the rest of the dog's life. If you find you and the dog are not suited it is a condition of sale that the dog comes back to Stafford Rescue.
