About Roxy (On Trial 28/12/14)~ small kelpie x
Everybody needs an LBD right? A Little Black Dog? Meet Roxy, a small, approximately 7 month old kelpie X. Her coat is shiny black with a tiny white patch on her chest. She has beautiful big brown eyes and those pointy kelpie ears. She currently stands about 30cm and weighs approx. 10kgs. She probably still has some growing to do and will fill out a bit.
Roxy adores people and children and presents her belly for a rub at their feet when any are around. She loves that children are close to the ground like her. Roxy also enjoys cuddling up on your lap in front of the TV. Caution – she will lick your toes when they are dangling off the lounge.
Roxy is still young and loves to chew so must be provided with chew toys and bones. Like all dogs, Roxy requires ongoing training and socialisation. She can sit for treats but needs practice at all other commands and walking on the lead. Because she is still so young and has spent most of her life outside housetraining is also on her to do list. She is responding well to food rewards.
Roxy’s forever home will require a nice yard, secure fencing, adequate shelter outside and she must be welcome inside daily. She is used to having other dogs around her for company so if you don't have another dog, Roxy will need her human to be home a lot. Roxy sleeps inside in her bedroom (a puppy pen).
For more information or to meet Roxy, please contact her foster carer Jennifer by email to bisboone@yahoo.com.au. Roxy is in foster care in Kurri Kurri, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Roxy's adoption fee is only $400 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
