Never met one so very unlikely
Kids
Teenagers and older
Size
14 kgs
Exercise requirements
High. Oscar loves his outings and will end up ‘’bouncing off the walls’’ if you miss a day. He will run for hours.
How is your dog on/off a lead?
Starts off pulling but settles down nicely. When off the lead he usually comes back when called.
Escape artist
No but he will take advantage of an open door and slip out. You will need to make sure you keep gates and doors to the street securely closed.
Toilet trained
Yes
Tolerance to being alone
He is ok but if you work full time he would prefer another dog for company. Ideally he would suits someone home more often than not who is looking for a doggy companion.
Likes
All foods. Walks. Soft toys. Parks. Tummy scratch. Ear scratch. Rolling on grass. Sleeping. Most of all, company.
Dislikes
Being outside when people are inside the house.
Ideal home
Oscar will thrive in a medium to large backyard and where he has the company of people and/or another dog during the day - preferably people. You will need to be active and willing to take Oscar for a walk every day without fail.
Oscar can be a bit of a ‘’Divo’’ and hence, will not tolerate the chaos of a young family. Hence, he will not suit a family with young kids.
Oscar is very affectionate and loving but as he can also be strong willed and stubborn - you will need to have experience with dogs. He needs a firm but kind owner. Oscar has previously had an ear allergy and during this time did not like being poked by the vet, mouthing and being snappy. If you keep his ears dry it is usually not a problem. He is usually a lovely affectionate dog.
Generally
Oscar is an energetic, happy and playful dog that loves walks and play time. Oscar is social and mixes well with other dogs. He is typical of many designer dogs being high energy, sometimes anxious and strong willed. However, within the hands of a consistent owner that maintains firm boundaries he is well behaved. Oscar is not suitable for a first time dog owner.

Adoption details
We strongly recommend you read the dogs' profile carefully as everything we know about the dog/s is listed.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) http://www.dogadoption.org.au/adoption---expression-of-interest.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner/s. It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog/s.
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we do not usually allow trials.
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
