About Joy (On Trial 20/12/14) ~ border collie
Joy is a 4.5 month old, short haired, border collie x puppy. She loves a good wrestle and game of chase with our 3 other foster dogs. She also loves cuddles, whether it be with animals or humans. Joy is amazing with kids of all ages and is very gentle with them. She loves to give us lots of her affectionate wet kisses.
Joy is living in a foster home with rabbits, cats and dogs. She loves the other dogs, but being a herding breed, she can't resist trying to herd the rabbits and cats so she's not suitable to a home with them.
Joy walks very well on a harness and lead and loves our nightly walks together. Trips to the beach are a special treat. We have started basic training such as "Sit" and "Stay" and this will need to be continued in her new home. We have also started house training her and she is doing well but isn't perfect yet. We always recommend dog training classes to give your new family member the best start in life.
Joy is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside when people are home and to sleep inside. She needs to be treated like a member family. She likes nothing more than sleeping in her bed on the floor next to your bed at night.
Joy has a short, very low maintenance coat that can easily be cared for by just the occasional bath and brushing.
Joy is gorgeous, active and friendly young dog who is a delight to have around.
If you think you can provide little Joy with a secure, loving, forever home please contact Rachael by phone 0402 774 287 or email. Joy is in foster care in Beresfield (near Maitland) and is available for adoption interstate.
Joy's adoption fee is only $450 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Medical notes
Healthy young girl.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.rtf.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
