Astro ... Handsome Staffy X

Astro is a beautiful happy, cuddly boy. He loves attention and is a busybody around the house. He loves to sun tan, have a nap on your foot or go for a long walk/run/car ride. He prefers to be around his humans when at home and is best as an inside outside dog. He knows to sleep on his bed, is toilet trained to go in the backyard and doesn't beg for food. Friendly to human guests in the home and is learning not jump up for affection.

Astro has shown yard dominance and will need to be an only dog. He gets over excited around some dogs when walking and should be kept on leash until he learns better manners. He will need a home dedicated to his training to improve his impulse control during play. He is very smart and will learn very quickly.

Astro was fostered and lived before with children. Was gentle with them while playing catch, however is too strong for them to walk on a lead. He walks quickly and does pull on the lead. A harness would be a better option than a collar.

**Astro was adopted recently into a family with 2 kids and although he was a perfect pet with his family, he was both storm and "bang shy". The family discovered that the nearby train line was causing him undue stress and causing him to try and get out of the yard and cry at the door to come in. They were not a family that allowed the dog inside. So he was surrendered back to us to find a more suitable home. In his current foster home, he is allowed to sleep and stay inside when there is someone around. He has not shown any anxiety during the recent storms and during assessment did not show any reaction to loud noises.
If you think that Astro would make your family complete, would be allowed inside when you're home and you will be dedicated to his training, he will make the perfect family pet.

This gorgeous boy has had a couple of rough starts through no fault of his own, and we are hoping we can find him his perfect forever home quickly.
