About Spot
Gentle, sensitive, affectionate, sweet natured, smart & love to please!
That's me! Hi! My name is Spot!
I'm a real people-puppy! I love people and I love cuddles, conversations and play with my humans. I just want to be where my pawrents are but I'll happily lie down nearby and fall asleep, or play with toys on my own. I have a lot of love for my pawrents!
I learn tricks very well! So far I know:
Sit,
Shake,
Sit pretty,
Drop,
Stay,
Up,
Down,
Bye (which means I shouldn't follow my pawrent because I have to stay) &
Toilet / toilet time (which means go outside and...)
I am a very good boy and I sit and wait until released before I eat my dinner. \ I don't have food aggression towards people or dogs.
I am also very well behaved in the car and love going for rides!
I am mostly toilet trained but still sometimes have an accident inside.
I walk reasonably well on the lead but as I'm only recently fully immunised I am yet to get lots of practice. But I will be learning to walk beside roads and not on them, and will learn to stop and wait for a release before crossing a road.
Mummy says I am very clever for a young pup!
I also love dogs! I love meeting new dogs and am careful with them and will be submissive if the other dog isn't happy, or if they are too boisterous for me. Sometimes I will go back and stand between my foster mum's legs for safety. I live with a foster brother-dog and we wrestle and play chasies. I would be happy in a home with other dogs who enjoy playing. But I would also be happy as an only-dog if I can be inside where my parents are, when they are at home.
I am a sensitive natured pup which does mean I need pawrents who will be sensitive to my needs. I was initially very scared of wearing a collar, and of windows being opened and closed, and needed some reassurance (and treats!) to help me feel confident. I will need pawrents who will make an effort to socialise me to lots of different situations carefully, in a way that will help me grow confidence.
I am a working dog breed so need pawrents who understand my needs for mental stimulation and exercise. But I also like to hangout inside the house with you!
Medical notes
I seem to have a bit of hayfever which makes me honk a little, but does not impact on my overall health. Antihistamines treat this well.
I am yet to be desexed and will not be able to go to my new home until then- this may not be until mid December 2014 to mid January 2015.
